Home bleaching / whitening at home

You can carry out this procedure in the comfort of your own home. During your treatment appointment, we will provide you with comprehensive instructions and customized mouth trays for your upper and lower jaw. These mouth trays are filled with the whitening gel, which you initially wear for 1 to 4 hours and then use overnight. You can be sure that the whitening agent provided does not exceed the concentration of hydrogen peroxide that you are allowed to use at home, in accordance with a new EU regulation.

Please note: Teeth whitening as a cosmetic procedure can only be performed on healthy teeth. We will therefore carry out a thorough examination of your oral health and assess the current condition of your teeth and gums before starting treatment. Any existing caries or periodontal disease must be effectively treated before whitening.

To achieve an optimal aesthetic result, it is also essential to have your teeth professionally cleaned by your dental hygienist beforehand to remove minor stains or superficial discoloration. In any case, a combination with prior oral hygiene is therefore very useful, as the whitening gel can then work much better and the whitening result is optimized. Bleaching in the practice at the chairside

With this option, teeth whitening can be carried out in our dental practice. A whitening solution is used, which usually contains 6% hydrogen peroxide.

Please note: On request, we can also offer you a combination of teeth whitening at home and in the practice. You are welcome to discuss this option with your dentist during your first bleaching consultation.

Walking bleaching

We offer a unique solution in our dental practice. We gently whiten discolored teeth, especially after root canal treatment, over a period of several weeks. We fill the root canal with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for around 3 to 5 days. This gentle method restores the natural, beautiful color of the tooth.

Who is tooth whitening suitable for?

Bleaching is a popular treatment among our patients. It offers the possibility of whitening teeth by two to three shades with the help of a bleaching agent. However, we advise against bleaching in the following cases:

• If you are under 18 years old.
• During pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• If you are taking certain medications.
• If there are carious lesions (small holes on the tooth surface) or damaged restoration margins and crown margins in the mouth (gaps between natural teeth and dental prostheses such as crowns).
